When the scorching summer sun beats down on the earth, the temperature keeps rising. Not only do we feel extremely hot and uncomfortable, but the digital printing machines also face a severe "heat" test. The high temperature and high humidity environment will have many adverse effects on the performance and lifespan of the digital printing machines. Therefore, during the hot weather, it is particularly important to do a good job in the daily maintenance of the digital printing machines.

Printer head maintenance

The print head, as one of the most precise and crucial components of a digital printing machine, its performance directly affects the quality and accuracy of the printing. In hot weather, the evaporation rate of ink increases, which easily causes the print head to get clogged, thereby affecting the printing effect.

Regularly clean the print head: Before and after each day's work, use the dedicated print head cleaning solution to clean the print head. The specific operation can be carried out according to the equipment manual. Generally, it can be automatically cleaned through the cleaning program provided by the printer, or it can be cleaned manually. When cleaning manually, be extra careful to avoid damaging the delicate structure of the print head. In addition, it is recommended to conduct a deep cleaning once a week to thoroughly remove the residual ink and impurities inside the print head.
Prevent the printhead from drying out: If the digital printing machine is not used for a long time, the printhead must be placed in a moisture-retaining device and ensure that the moisture solution is sufficient. At the same time, start the machine every once in a while to allow the printhead to idle for a short period of time, maintaining its moist state and preventing it from being damaged due to drying out.

Ink system maintenanceInk system maintenance

The ink system is the "blood system" of a digital printing machine. A good ink system condition is the foundation for ensuring the quality of the printed products.
Pay attention to ink quality: In high-temperature environments, the stability of the ink is particularly important. Make sure to use ink of qualified quality that is suitable for the current environmental temperature. Avoid using inferior ink, as it is more prone to precipitation and deterioration at high temperatures, which can clog the printhead.
Regularly inspect the ink pipeline: Check if the ink pipeline is damaged, aged or leaking ink. Hot weather accelerates the aging of pipeline materials. Once any problems with the pipeline are detected, it should be replaced promptly to prevent ink leakage from causing damage to the machine. At the same time, ensure that the ink pipeline is tightly connected to avoid problems with insufficient ink supply due to pipeline loosening caused by high temperature.
Control the storage environment of ink: The storage temperature of ink has a significant impact on its performance. In hot weather, ink should be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place, avoiding direct sunlight and high temperatures. Excessive heat can cause changes in the viscosity of the ink, affecting the printing quality.

Maintenance of mechanical components

The mechanical components of the digital printing machine will also suffer from increased wear and malfunction under high-temperature conditions, which requires our close attention.
Lubrication and Cleaning: Regularly lubricate and clean the transmission components of the machine. Use dedicated lubricants and apply them according to the prescribed intervals and dosages to reduce friction and wear between the components. At the same time, promptly remove dust and ink residues from the surface of the components to prevent these impurities from entering the mechanical interior and affecting the normal operation of the machine. In hot weather conditions, it is recommended to shorten the lubrication cycle appropriately to ensure that the mechanical components are always in a good lubricated state.
Check the transmission belt: The transmission belt is an important component for transmitting power. High temperatures can cause the elasticity of the belt to decrease, leading to slackness or breakage. Before each startup, check the tension and wear condition of the transmission belt. If you find the belt is slack, adjust the tensioning device in time; if the belt is severely worn, it must be replaced promptly.

During the hot weather season, conducting regular maintenance on the digital printing machine not only helps to extend its service life and improve production efficiency, but also ensures the stability of the printed products. By keeping the digital printing machine in good working condition during the scorching summer, enterprises can create greater value.
