Year-End Digital Printing Machine Maintenance Tips

Release time:

Annual maintenance of digital textile printers focuses on deep cleaning of print heads and ink systems, inspection and lubrication of mechanical systems, electrical safety checks, and idle protection. Below are executable processes and key points for each module to ensure the equipment remains stable after shutdown during holidays.

I. Print Head and Ink System (Core Maintenance Item)

▪Print Head Deep Cleaning
Execute the device's built-in cleaning program. Wipe the print head surface with a dedicated cleaning solution and lint-free cloth in one direction to remove ink stains and crystallization, avoiding scratching the piezoelectric crystal. Perform nozzle check and print test strips to confirm no broken lines; for severe clogging, use low-frequency ultrasonic cleaning (5-10 minutes), rinse with purified water, and thoroughly air-dry.
Ink Stack Inspection: Clean the ink stack cap and scraper, replace aged scrapers to ensure sealing and ink scraping effectiveness.

▪Full Ink System Maintenance
Replace ink inlet/outlet filters and ink cartridges, check pipe connections to ensure no looseness or air leaks.
Select the corresponding cleaning solution based on ink type, perform circulation flushing on ink tubes, ink cartridges, and other components until clear liquid flows out; it is recommended to empty old ink and fill the ink system with cleaning solution to prevent sedimentation for long-term shutdown (over 1 month).
Clean the waste ink tank, check if the waste ink tube is unobstructed, to prevent overflow and unpleasant odors.

II. Mechanical Transmission System

▪ Guide Rails and Slides

Wipe away dust and oil stains with a dust-free cloth, apply the equipment-specified lubricant, manually move the trolley to ensure even lubrication, thereby reducing wear and noise.

▪ Synchronous Belt and Gears

Check the belt tension and wear, adjust the tensioning wheel or replace aged belts; clean the gear pair and reapply lubricant to eliminate abnormal operating noises.

▪ Platform and Elevating Mechanism

Clean the printing platform and correct its level; check the limit switches and smoothness of the ink stack and platform elevating mechanism, and tighten loose screws.

III. Electrical and Auxiliary Systems

▪Circuit Safety

Inspect power cords, plugs, and sockets for aging or overheating; tighten terminal connections; replace damaged cables.

▪Control and Heating Components

Test the mainboard, driver, and sensors for response and accuracy; check the dryer's heating elements and temperature control system; clean dust from cooling fans and air ducts to prevent overheating.

▪Grounding and Insulation

Ensure proper equipment grounding; use a multimeter to test circuit insulation and eliminate electric leakage hazards.

IV. Idle Period Protection (Key for Shutdown During Holidays)

▪ Perform Moisturizing Sealing After Maintenance

Apply dedicated moisturizing solution to the print head, return the ink cartridge to ensure a seal, and prevent the print head from drying out.

▪ Power Off and Dustproof

Turn off the main power supply and unplug the power cord, cover the entire machine with a dust cover, and place it in a dry environment with a temperature of 20-28°C to avoid moisture and excessive temperature differences.

▪ Regular Wake-Up

If the machine is shut down for more than 15 days, it is recommended to power it on every 3-5 days to perform nozzle testing and simple cleaning to prevent component aging.

V. Precautions

• Do not use strong solvents such as alcohol to clean the ink path and print head, to avoid corroding the seals and piezoelectric crystals.

• Use the original equipment manufacturer's model of lubricating grease to prevent component jamming caused by mixing different greases.

• Power off throughout the maintenance process; strictly control the time and frequency of ultrasonic cleaning to protect the core components of the print head.
