1. Applicable to various materials
Although direct printing on 100% cotton yields the best results, DTF is suitable for many different types of clothing materials: cotton, nylon, treated leather, polyester, 50/50 blends, as well as light and dark fabrics. Transfer printing can even be applied to different types of surfaces, such as luggage, shoes, and even glass, wood, and metal! You can expand your inventory by applying your designs using DTF to various products.
2. No Pre-Treatment Required
If you already have a DTG printer, you may be quite familiar with the pre-treatment process (not to mention the drying time). The heat-melting capability applied to the DTF transfer directly bonds the printed material to the substrate, meaning no pre-treatment is necessary.
3. Saving White Ink
DTF requires less white ink - approximately 50% white, while DTG printing requires 200% white. White ink is often the most expensive as it is used more frequently and the pigment is titanium oxide. Therefore, reducing the amount of white ink used for printing can save a significant amount of money.
4. More durable than DTG printing
It is undeniable that DTG printing has a soft texture and almost no tactile feel because the ink is directly applied to the fabric. Although DTF printing does not have the soft feel boasted by DTG, the transfer is more durable. It transfers well onto a film and is very flexible - meaning it won't crack or peel off, making it ideal for items that will be used heavily.
5. Easy to Apply
Printing onto a film transfer medium means you can place the design on surfaces that are difficult to reach or awkward. If the area can be heated, you can apply DTF design to it! Because only heating is needed to adhere the design, you can even sell the printed transfer directly to your customers and allow them to place the design on any surface or item using a heat press for transfer, without the need for special equipment!
6. Faster Production Process
As you can eliminate the steps of pre-treatment and drying of the clothing, the production time can be significantly shortened. This is good news for one-time or small-batch orders that were traditionally unprofitable.
7. Helps to diversify your inventory
Although it might not be feasible to print a large number of the most popular designs on every size or color of clothing, with DTF printing, you can print the popular designs in advance and store them in a very small space. Then, you can be ready with your best-selling products at any time, so that they can be applied to any clothing as needed!
